Accounts, cloud sync and your data

Do I need an account?

No. Capturing, annotating, recording and saving files all work without signing in. An account only unlocks optional extras: cloud sync and shareable links across devices.

Signing in

Sign in with Google or email and password from the extension popup. You authenticate on the website — which also handles two-factor authentication — and the extension connects itself automatically. There are no API keys to copy and paste.

Signing out from the popup disconnects the extension and signs you out of the website too.

Where your captures live

• By default, on your device. Captures download to your computer and nothing is uploaded.
• With cloud sync on, synced captures and any share links are stored in your CaptureWizard library so you can reach them from other devices.

Your data & privacy

• Local-first: if you never create a link or turn on sync, your captures never leave your machine.
• Redaction is real — blur is baked into the exported file, so hidden content isn't in what you share.
• You can delete synced captures and revoke share links from your dashboard at any time.

Protect your account with two-factor authentication and review active sessions from the Security page in your dashboard.
